Welcome to a new year of learning at RCES! We look forward to working closely with you and your child/children during the 2016-2017 school year. With a new year comes a fresh start and new opportunities.
The most important factor in a child’s education is school attendance. All students should arrive before 7:50 and remain in school until 2:45. When students are tardy, absent, or leave early, they miss critical instructional time that directly affects their academic success. Every minute is precious when children are learning. Please read the attendance policy in the handbook carefully.
Dress code violations consume valuable learning time. Please read the student dress code policy in the handbook carefully. This will avoid interruptions during the day.
RCES will continue working closely with parents to keep them informed of their child’s academic progress. We will share data, and other valuable information with you so that you can monitor your child’s progress toward his/her academic goals. We are asking that all parents get involved and stay in close contact with your child’s teacher. Please plan to attend all PTO meetings and parent-teacher conferences. Parents will continue to pick up their child’s report card on half-day parent-teacher conference days at the end of each 9 weeks. This will allow important dialogue to occur between parents and teachers concerning the child’s academic progress. In addition to scheduled conferences, we ask that you please set up conferences with your child’s teacher during their planning time or after 2:45. Also, couriers will be coming home every Wednesday with important information so be sure to ask for the courier each week.
RCES will continue to host the End of 9 Weeks Celebrations to recognize students for perfect attendance, good behavior, and overall hard work. Children deserve to be recognized for the good things they accomplish. We will also be offering school clubs during the day for students to join. Stay tuned for more information as we work out the plan.
